Son Kidnaps Father in Oyo State, Collects N2.5m Ransom for His Release
- A boy has been arrested for orchestrating the kidnap of his own father in Oyo state, southwest Nigeria
- The arrested suspect was caught in Ilorin, Kwara state after commiting the alleged crime in another state
- According to the police, the suspect has already confessed that he carried the operation with the help of his three colleagues

In what can be described as a disheartening development, a young man has been arrested for orchestrating the kidnap of hos own father.
The Kwara state Police Command says it has arrested one Issa Naigheti for the kidnaping. The police added that the son also collected a ransom of N2.5m.
According to Ajayi Okasanmi, spokesman of the command, the suspect was arrested around Kambi area of Ilorin, Daily Trust reports.
Okasanmi added that efforts were ongoing to arrest his other accomplices, Punch Newspaper added.

He said:
“The suspect confessed under interrogation to having conspired with two others to kidnap his father, Bature Naigboho in Igboho/Igbeti area of Oyo State and collected N2.5m ransom."

In another report, Ekpe Ogbu, the Benue state commissioner for housing and urban development, is nowhere to be found at the moment.
Ogbu was abducted at Adankari Junction along the Otukpo-Ado Road on Sunday, December 4. Ogbu's abduction was confirmed by the adviser on security matters to governor Samuel Ortom, Colonel Paul Hemba (retd).
Hemba who spoke with journalists on the commissioner's kidnap noted that the police command in Otukpo was able to recover the Hilux van Ogbu was traveling in.
It was also gathered that while the kidnappers have not made any contact with the victim's family, rescue efforts have begun for him.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP. Catherine Anene, confirmed to newsmen in Makurdi that the command is on the trail of the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, a notable priest of the Roman Catholic church, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, has berated some Igbo politicians and stakeholders, saying they have been making efforts to pull down one of their own who has been working very hard to become the next president of Nigeria.
The Christian cleric also berated the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for what he described as unfair treatment of the Igbo nation, and the southeast in the country's political trajectory.
