Speaking at a two-day workshop on political violence and election security organised in Abuja, INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, said there must be an end to the attacks on its facilities, Punch reports.
Apart from this, he called for an end to the insecurity ravaging parts of the country.
He said this is the only way the commission can conduct free, fair, and credible elections in 2023.
Yakubu added that if the attacks continued till next year, they could impede the successful conduct of the polls.
He added that the attack might not make it possible for a clear winner to emerge because there is a threshold a candidate must meet before he or she can be declared the winner.
