BREAKING: House of Reps Reveals Identities of Those Sabotaging Anti Graft War in Nigeria
- Some appointees of President Muhammadu Buhari have been accused of working against the anti corruption stand of the government
- This strong allegation was raised recently by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts
- The committee consequently summoned the officials as well as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation
The House of Representatives Committee on Public Accounts alleged that some of those appointed by the President Muhammadu Buhari are working against the anti-corruption campaign of his administration.
Chairman of the committee, Oluwole Oke, stated that the lawmakers reject the reduction of the proposed capital budget of the Office of the Auditor General for the Federation from over N2bn to N62m.
Oke particularly called out the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed; Budget Office of the Federation and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation.
The committee consequently summoned the officials as well as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, who is to appear before the lawmakers within seven days to justify the alleged deliberate attempt to cripple the auditing agency.

EFCC, ICPC given 7 days ultimatum to publicize findings on allegations against JAMB registrar
The Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum (ACIF) has given the Economic Financial Crimes and Commission, EFCC and Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC seven days ultimatum.
The ACIF wants the anti-corruption agencies to make public their findings on the corruption allegations levied against the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede.
The organisation, however, threatened court action against the anti-graft agencies if they fail to heed to the demands. In a letter dated Sunday, October 27 written to the EFCC and ICPC signed by Director of Communication, ACIF, Bashorun Oladokun Abdulwajeed, and made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday, the group alleged deliberate attempts to sweep the case under the carpet.

Meanwhile, the EFCC has been told that it lacks the power and right to prosecute Governor Bello Matawalle based on his immunity granted by section 308 of the 1999 constitution.
This was the ruling of the Federal High Court in Abuja read by Justice Inyang Ekwo on Friday, October 14.
The court advised the commission to wait until the Zamfara governor leaves office before arraigning him in court.
