Bola Tinubu Begins Consultation Over Muslim-Muslim Ticket
- Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has opened talks with religious bodies and stakeholders over the party's Muslim-Muslim ticket
- However, the Christian Association of Nigeria and Arewa Pastors have denied knowledge of such move
- The religious body insisted that neither the former Lagos State governor nor his emissaries has approached them
Following the controversy trailing his Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party presidential candidate has reportedly commenced consultations with religious stakeholders.
This was disclosed by the Tinubu Campaign Organisation.
Bayo Onanuga, director of Media and Communications for Tinubu Campaign Organisation, said his principal has started consultations with relevant stakeholders, including religious bodies.
He hinted that many people are unaware of the latest move because there was an arrangement not to have it published in the media.

He was quoted to have said:
“We are not publicising in the media. We are talking to the people concerned. The consultation process has started already. We are just not making a lot of noise about it because it is not meant for publication."
“When it is time, we will address the media. For now, we are talking to religious leaders. I am reassuring you again that the candidate is reaching out to everybody concerned."
However, when contacted, the Christian Association of Nigeria on its part denied having any contact with the APC presidential candidate or any of his representatives.
The association’s spokesman, Adebayo Oladeji said that such a meeting has not been brought to his attention.
He said:
“I am not sure anybody has reached out to CAN, at least, not to my knowledge."
Also, the association’s general secretary, Joseph Daramola, also corroborated said he has no idea of such meeting.
“I don’t know about that. I am in Abuja presently and I can tell you that I have not seen or met anybody that looks like Tinubu in person."
Nigerian students in trouble as SSANU rejects Nimi Briggs renegotiation committee report
Meanwhile, the federal government and Prof Nimi Briggs led Re-negotiation Committee report has been rejected by members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko Branch.
The association which described the report as a divide and rule tactic said it is an insult that a committee of such magnitude could recommend a salary increment of 180% to the Teaching staff and a meagre 10% to the Non-Teaching staff.
In a statement made available to Legit.ng, chairman of the association, Prince Tayo Ogungbeni said the association will reject the i any preferential treatment which may be given to any University Based Union(s).
