BREAKING: Photos Emerge As Buhari Presides Over Security Meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the National Security Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting is expected to be discussing issues around strategies on escalating successes of the recent past in the fight against terrorism and general insecurity, The Nation reports.

The president's aide Buhari Sallau made this disclosure through a post shared on his Facebook page on Thursday, June 9, accompanied by photos.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, others attended the meeting

The meeting is being attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Boss Mustapha; the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (retd).

Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao are also in attendance.

Also in attendance are the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman; the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.

The meeting, which started in the early hours of the day, is being attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and top government officials; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno and the chief of staff to the president, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.

Former heads of state physically in attendance are Abdusalami Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan, and Yakubu Gowon.
