Presidential spokespersons, Femi Adesina and Garba Shehu, have been called out by the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah over the country’s state of affairs.
In fact, the respected cleric said he was looking forward to a debate with the minister of information, Lai Mohammed, Adesina and Shehu, Punch Newspaper reports.
Kukah who accused presidential spokesmen of being inefficient and poor writers insisted that he is emotional and passionate about the issues affecting Nigeria.
He insisted that he has paid his dues with regard to seeking the solution to the country’s problems even at critical points in its history.

He said:
“These are the only spokesmen that have spent a lot of time buying, photocopying paper, and simply typing away texts. They have been involved in writing the poorest quality, never talking about the issues.
“So, the first thing is to show you their inefficiency. They are used to writing statements as opposed to talking to Nigerians about policies.
“What this tells you is that 99.99% of what they write imply second-guessing what the president’s mind is. They have no contact with the president. They have no contact with government policies. All they are doing is writing on behalf of the president."

Recall that Kukah, on Tuesday, April 19, said President Muhammadu Buhari has failed in his responsibilities to Nigerians who have called him to serve.
Speaking on Arise TV during an interview, Kukah said that even the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari does not agree with the policies of her husband.
The clergy during the morning interview was reacting to the remarks made by the spokesperson to the president, Garba Shehu. Shehu had in a piece titled, "Kukah's Virus of Hate" urged the clergy to drop his cassock and join partisan politics.

In the spirit of Easter, the Catholic Bishop, Kukah had sent a strong message to the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
In a recent chat with a news daily, the Bishop who is not happy with the recent happenings in the polity disclosed the president has destroyed the country and as well divided the citizens.
Going forward, he urged religious leaders to open their hearts and work in unity as members of the body of both Islam and Christianity are walking out of the faith, a move that is killing the faith.
