Photos Emerge as Northern Governor Buys Brand New Cadillac, Luxury Cars for 260 Traditional Rulers

  • At least 200 traditional rulers in Zamfara state have received brand new cars including Cadillac 2019 Model
  • The vehicles were distributed to the monarchs at the Government House, by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III
  • According to Governor Matawalle, the gesture was in recognition of the status of the traditional institution as custodians

Gusau, Zamfara state - Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle on Wednesday, April 6, distributed 260 cars to traditional rulers in Zamfara state.

Daily Trust reported that the brand new vehicles including a Cadillac 2019 Model were distributed to 17 emirs, 13 senior district heads, and 230 district heads across the state.

This was made known in a statement issued by Zailani Bappa, special adviser public enlightenment, media, and communications.

The distribution was performed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar 111 as Matawalle commissioned the Ultramodern headquarters of the state council of Ulama.

According to Matawalle, the gesture was done in recognition of the status of the traditional institution as the custodians of religion and culture and vehicle of cohesion and peace in societies, Nigerian Tribune added.

The Sultan speaking at the Government House in Gusau expressed gratitude to the governor for his interest in the welfare of the traditional institution.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to continue supporting the administration of Matawalle by rendering their best.

Commissioner’s son shot dead, three others killed by suspected bandits in Zamfara

In a previous report by Legit.ng, some suspected bandits killed the son of Zamfara state commissioner of security and home affairs, Ibrahim Mamman Tsafe.

The bandits invaded Tsafe town, in Tsafe local government area of the state, on Sunday night and killed three others.

Crisis in APC as Matawalle’s kinsmen dump him for Senator Marafa

Meanwhile, the crisis within the Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) continues to deepen as the party has been hit with the alignment of supporters of Mattawale with Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa’s faction of the party.

The supporters from Maradun local government area where Mattawale hails from have declared their loyalty to Marafa.

The party members led by APC stalwarts, Captain Halilu Haliru (retd.), and a former director-general in the state civil service, Malam Sale ST were received by Hon. Bello Bakyasuwa, a chieftain of Marafa’s faction.
