Breaking: Buhari Dissolves Governing Board Of Strategic FG Agency

The governing board of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Center has been dissolved by the Nigerian presidency.
This decision made by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, December 10, was contained in a state released the permanent secretary, general services office, Nnamdi Mbaeri, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, Punch reports.
Mbaeri in the statement directed the chief executive of the centre to refer matters requiring the attention of the board to the minister of youth and sports development, Leadership added.

He noted that President Buhari made this move based on his constitutional powers under section 5 of the 1999 constitution.

According to the perm sec, the dissolution affects all committees and other similar organs established under the centre.
The statement read:
“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the immediate dissolution of the Governing Board of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre in the exercise of the President’s Constitutional Powers under Section 5 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and Section 4 of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre Act.
“In view of this, the chief executive of the Centre has been directed to refer matters requiring the attention of the Board to the minister of youth & sports development until such a time, a new board would be reconstituted.
“Consequent upon this, all committees, technical committees, and other similar organs established are also affected.”
Blackout: Buhari sacks entire AEDC management over workers’ strike
Meanwhile, following the strike action of members of the Nigerian Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) which led to blackout in many parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the presidency had sacked the management of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).
This stern decision was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday, December 6, by Ofem Uket, media aide of the minister of state for power.
It was made known in the statement that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a new interim governing board to oversee the daily operations of the AEDC.
