Updated: IGP, NSA, DSS DG, Others Attend Slain Katsina Commissioner's Burial
- The remains of late Rabe Nasir, the commissioner of science and technology in Katsina, have been buried in his home state

- The police authorities in the northern state have yet to confirm the incident, however, a friend of the deceased stated that Nasir was shot
Katsina - Rabe Nasir, the assassinated commissioner for science and technology in President Buhari's home state, Katsina, was buried on Friday, December 10.
Among dignitaries who were in attendance for the funeral prayer were Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, and a delegation of the federal government led by National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

A report by Daily Trust indicated that gunmen killed the Katsina state commissioner of science and technology, Dr Rabe Nasir.
The commissioner was alleged to have been assassinated at his residence in Fatima Shema Estate in Katsina metropolis on Wednesday, December 8.

Contrary to the initial report a source said the commissioner was killed when his assailants struck on Thursday, December 9.
In another report by Nigerian Tribune, a friend of the deceased revealed that Nasir was shot after Asr prayer in his residence.
A neighbour who spoke anonymously said the commissioner was stabbed in the stomach in his sitting room on Wednesday night, adding that his body was dragged into a toilet where it was locked.
Another resident said the Nasir’s lifeless body was discovered after he failed to return several calls made to his phone.
The police are yet to make any statement on the tragic incident as of the time of filing the report.
Before his death, Nasir served as Governor Aminu Masari's, special advisor on0 science and technology before he was eventually appointed a commissioner.
Gunmen kill 2 people in Imo
In a previous report by Legit.ng, some unknown gunmen invaded Etekwuru autonomous community of Ohaji/ Egbema local government area of Imo state in the early hours of Wednesday, December 7.
The gunmen who invaded the community gunned down at least two residents during the attack.
It was gathered that the gunmen also destroyed some property in the community while leaving some residents injured.
Meanwhile, gunmen killed a son of the traditional ruler of Ikpomolokpo in Gege ward of Ado local government area in Benue state.
The gunmen who broke into the palace in the early hours of Monday, November 15, also abducted the monarch's daughter.
Witnesses noted that the gunmen stormed the community about 2am and headed to the palace of the clan head where they wreaked havoc.
