FCT, Abuja - President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the minister of information and culture, on his 70th birthday.
The president's best wishes to Mohammed were contained in a statement issued on Tuesday, December 7, by Femi Adesina, the special adviser on media and publicity.
Buhari extolled the former national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who he described as a devoted public servant.
He also saluted the minister for his sacrifices and contributions in raising formidable information machinery that went a long way in bringing changes in the country.

His statement reads in part:
"The President believes Mohammed works assiduously to create understanding and enhance the image of the country by bridging the gaps in information, commending his ingenuity, resilience and emotional intelligence."
Sending greetings to Mohammed, the president prayed that the Almighty God would continue to sustain him in good health, strength and longer life.
Jonathan at 64: Buhari hails ex-president in special birthday message
Legit.ng previously reported that Buhari felicitated with his immediate predecessor, former President Goodluck Jonathan, on his 64th birthday anniversary which was on Wednesday, November 17.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, November 16, by his spokesman Buhari congratulated Jonathan for serving the country and working for the peace and advancement of democracy in Africa.
He said Jonathan had continued to expand the boundaries of leadership by teaching many in the country the power of focus, consistency and diligence, having served in various capacities.
Remove Mohammed from office
Meanwhile, a prominent leader of the APC who happens to be a former commissioner for information, culture, and tourism in Niger, Jonathan Vatsa called for Mohammed's immediate sack.
Vatsa said sacking the minister of information and culture has become necessary following the submitted report of the Lagos EndSARS enquiry panel which revealed that some persons were killed during the October 2020 protest.
The Niger APC stalwart and leader said that President Muhammadu Buhari needs to remove Mohammed from office in order to redeem the reputation of his administration.
