Police Reportedly Raid Abuja Community, Shoot DSS Official, Arrest 37 Residents
- A community in Abuja has been raided by policemen from the Zuba Division in the Federal Capital Territory
- The security officers reportedly arrested 37 residents and also shot an official of the Department of State Services
- One of the residents alleged that the arrested residents were released the following morning on bail, after parting with N5,000 each

In what will continue to surprise Nigerians, policemen from the Zuba Division in the Federal Capital Territory reportedly raided Dakwa community, an Abuja suburb, arreasting many residents in the process, Daily Trust reports.
Also, the police were accused of shooting an official of the Department of State Services (DSS) who was on transit when he was allegedly shot in the Dakwa raid.
No fewer than 37 residents and other passersby in the community were arrested during the operation which took take place around 8pm.
A resident, Aliyu Ibrahim, who introduced himself as a security guard in one of the private schools in the area, said:

“They stormed the area with three vehicles including a Hilux van, bus and a utility vehicle. They operated alongside local vigilantes who rode the impounded motorcycles, while their owners and other arrested people were conveyed in the police vehicles.”
Another resident, who craved anonymity, alleged that the arrested residents were released the following morning on bail, after parting with N5,000 each.
Responding, the Zuba Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP Osor Moses, confirmed the shooting of the DSS official.
DSS arrests Kano state chairman of the Consumer Protection Council
In another report, the Department of State Service (DSS) has arrested the Kano state chairman of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), General Idris Dambazau (rtd) over allegations of economic sabotage.
The DSS accused Dambazau of unilateral closure of seven petroleum filling stations without following due process.
A source quoted in the report stated that all efforts to make Dambazau open the filling stations fell on deaf ears, despite the fact that he was undertaking an illegal assignment beyond the powers of his office.
Panic as trigger-happy policeman shoots man whose truck spoilt on road dead, residents take action
There was chaos in Osogbo, the Osun state capital, on Friday, December 3, following the death of an unidentified middle-aged man who was allegedly shot by a policeman.
It was gathered by Nigerian Tribune that residents of Ota Efun, the area where the incident happened, pounced on the trigger-happy officer but he luckily escaped. Not happy with the development, protesting youths took to the streets in protest as they barricaded major roads in the area.
Trouble started when the police allegedly chasing some boys pulled up and began confronting the driver of a truck belonging to a drilling company, Shekeenah Drill Tech, and his colleague.
Trigger-happy officer loses job
There have been several cases of extra-judicial killings by police officers. One of such men was recently dismissed by the Nigeria Police Force.
Edem Ebong, a police inspector lost his job after he was dismissed for shooting and killing no fewer than 5 innocent victims in Enugu.
The police officer attached to a lottery firm in Enugu, on Sunday, June 20, killed at least five persons and injured four others.
