No less than eight children were confirmed dead on Saturday, December 4, after they were found in a parked car in Lagos.
The vehicle in which the kids died possibly of suffocation was parked along Adelayo Street, Jah-Michael Bus-Stop, off Badagry Expressway, Lagos, The Cable reports.
According to the spokesman of the police command in the state on Sunday, December 5, Adekunle Ajisebutu, the children unknowingly locked themselves in the car while playing.

Ajisebutu disclosed that their remains have been taken to the morgue at the Badagry General Hospital.

“The eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing.
“Their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death.”
He added that the commissioner for police in Lagos, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered an investigation into the incident to ascertain what really caused the kids' death.
PM News added that one of the children was the grandchild of the owner of the car, who happened to be a late, retired staff of the Lagos State University (LASU).
It was gathered that the other seven kids are the children of Burea De Change operators in the area.

Meanwhile, following the directive of the ministry of education in Lagos state, Dowen College, the school attended by the late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr, had been sealed.
