Oyo Govt Suspends Students Who Brought Parents to Assault Teachers in Ibadan
Ibadan, Oyo state- Oyo state government has suspended a high school student in Ibadan who invited her parents and thugs to beat her teachers.

Legit.ng regional reporter in Ibadan, Ridwan Kolawole, reports that a female student of Jericho High School, Ibadan reportedly invited her parent and other accomplices to beat her teachers on the school premises.
The student was reported to have stormed the school in the company of her mother and some thugs to unleash terror on the teachers and some students.
The govt action
Oyo state government has imposed an immediate suspension on a female student of Jericho High School, Ibadan, the State Capital for leading her parent and thugs to beat her teachers and consequently disrupted the activities of the school.

The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem stated this on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, after a meeting with key Education stakeholders in Ibadan.
The Commissioner said the government will take further action on the matter in due course.
Oyo state government's reaction
Expressing the displeasure of Oyo state government over the incident, which led to her suspension, Barrister Adbu-Raheem disclosed that "the student in company of her mother, recently invaded the school with hefty thugs and miscreants assaulting a male student, teachers and other parents during an ongoing PTA meeting."
The mayhem was said to have been ignited by the girl’s mother and other accomplices, thereby causing tension in the school.
Barrister Abdu-Raheem noted that the state government is taking further action, to serve as a deterrent to other unguided parents and wards.
He appealed for caution, emphasizing that the present government has zero tolerance for impunity while charging students, parents and all stakeholders to take advantage of Governor Seyi Makinde's free qualitative education programmes.
Oyo employs 5,000 teachers, issues appointment letters
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that the newly-recruited teachers under the Oyo state’s Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) on Monday, February 1, started receiving their employment letters.
It was reported that this was done after a long period of scrutiny and verification to correct all errors that might have been noticed during and after the conduct of examination and oral test for the exercise.
Legit.ng gathered that the chairman of the state TESCOM, Pastor Akinade Alamu, said the government approved 5,000 appointment letters for distribution, adding that 4,400 letters have been released.
