Fear Grips Residents As Abuja Imam Is Found Dead, Police Reacts
- The killing of an Abuja Islamic cleric has raised fear among residents of the Kubwa area of Nigeria's capital city
- Mallam Abdurasshid was found dead in an uncompleted building in Kubwa after he went into the bush to fetch some firewood
- The divisional police officer in the area, however, said the matter is yet to be reported to the Nigeria police for action

On Thursday, November 18, an Imam with the Kubwa Cemetary, Mallam Abdurasshid, was found dead.
Daily Trust reports that Abdurasshid's body was found on a farm where he used to fetch firewood for his family to use at home.
A relative of the Imam, Adamu, said Abdurasshid left home at about 10 am on Wednesday, November 17, and did not return.
Today NG reports that Adamu said the Imam's who had also left the house to sell some of her wares became aware of his absence after she returned at 6 pm.

According to Adamu, when after 8 pm the Imam was yet to return home, family members and his neighbours began to search the area for him.
Adamu said:
“We dispersed into the bush around Gado-Nasko Farm from 8 pm till 12 am, but we could not trace him, apart from his clothes, a wheel truck that he used, as well as his axe, and the firewood."
An attempt to make a missing person's report in the police
He added that when Abdurasshid was nowhere to be found another search party was deployed to make a report at the FCDA Quarters police division.
He said the search for the Imam continued on Thursday morning around the same location and they were all on the verge of losing hope when some suggested they search an uncompleted building in the area.

He said:
“We met his body with injuries on his head looking like he was hit with some of the firewood found close to the body.”
He noted that the deceased, a native of Warawa in Kano state left behind two wives and some children.
He has since been buried.
However, reacting to the incident, the divisional police officer of FCDA Quarters, Kubwa, CSP Hussaini Abdullahi, said the matter was yet to be reported at the division.
Police take action on the killing of Timothy Adedoyin
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a wealthy businessman and the owner of a private university in Ile-Ife, Oduduwa University has been arrested by the police.
Dr Ramon Adedoyin was arrested in connection with the killing of a postgraduate student of OAU, Timothy Adegoke, at his hotel.
The police command in Osun state confirmed Adedoyin's arrest and vowed to ensure anyone found guilty of Adegoke's murder is brought to book.
Police officers and motorcycle riders clash in Ondo state
In other news, on Wednesday, November 17, there was a clash between police officers and some commercial motorcycle riders in Ondo state.
The incident caused panic in the area with the police officers and their relatives fleeing the division in the area.
The incident has led to the death of three persons and caused panic among the officers in the area.
