A prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who happens to be a former commissioner for information, culture, and tourism in Niger, Jonathan Vatsa, has called for Lai Mohammed's immediate sack.
Vatsa said sacking the minister of information and culture has become necessary following the submitted report of the Lagos EndSARS enquiry panel which revealed that some persons were killed during the October 2020 protest, The Sun reports.
The Niger APC stalwart and leader said that President Muhammadu Buhari needs to remove Mohammed from office in order to redeem the reputation of his administration.
Killing of 322 police, 642 soldiers, indicate we are in very difficult circumstances, Northern Elders lament
Alternatively, Vatsa suggested that the minister should honourably submit his letter of resignation to the president as soon as possible.

He explained that this will make "the blood of innocent young, armless Nigerians who were shot by security agents while carrying Nigeria flags and singing the country’s National anthem, will have peace with him."
He added:
"With this panel report, it is obvious that uncountable young, vibrant, and promising Nigerians were massacred on that night.
"By now, everybody expected the president to have changed these ministers when it is obvious that the system is completely not working. The highest he should allow them to stay would have been two years."
The former commissioner urged the president to set aside October 20 annually for the remembrance of the young Nigerians that were killed during the protest in addition to the full implementation of the panel's report "to show that every young Nigerian life matters.".
EndSARS report: Group calls for Lai Mohammed's arrest, says minister lied to Nigerians
Meanwhile, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) had called for the dismissal, arrest, and trial of Mohammed.
The call was made by the group in a statement released on Tuesday, November 16, saying the minister lied to Nigerians over the killing of #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.
The organisation noted that Mohammed's claims have now been contradicted by the Lagos judicial panel.
