Ogun - The Ogun attorney-general and commissioner for justice, Akingbolahan Adeniran, who recently resigned from his office, has reacted to claims that he took the decision due to alleged massive corruption in the state government.
Making his rebuttal in a statement on Monday, November 15, Adeniran noted that his resignation was due to personal reasons and that he does not know anything about the alleged corruption propagated by some online media outfits, Channels TV reports.
Part of his statement read:
“While it is true that on 8 November 2021, I formally notified His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Governor of the State, of my decision to resign from the cabinet, I must state that contrary to the online news publications, my reasons for resigning are purely personal.

“I am not aware of any ‘massive corruption’ in the administration.”
I enjoyed working with Abiodun's government
Adeniran who added that he enjoyed every bit of his time working with Governor Dapo Abiodun in the capacity, noted that the administration was able to reach some milestones in the delivery of justice to the people at various levels, Punch added.
He prayed that God will continue to use Governor Abiodun as an instrument to touch the lives of the masses positively and admitted that so much was learnt within the period.

His words:
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working with such an amazing group of administrators, technocrats, and experts in various fields of endeavour.
“I have learnt a lot from you all and pray that God will continue to use you to improve the lives of the good people of Ogun state.”
Tension, outcry as Nigerian governor, deputy, House speaker are absent in state
Meanwhile, the absence of Governor Abiodun, his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the speaker of the Ogun House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, was causing serious worry in the state.
Abiodun left the country for the United Kingdom to pay a courtesy visit to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently while Salako-Oyedele is said to be in London.
Added to this, Oluomo was said to be in the United States of America for an international conference.
