Lekki Tollgate Shooting: Who Gave the Order? Nigerians Want Final Answer

Following the release of report of the Lagos judicial panel of inquiry on the Lekki shooting incident and police brutality cases, Nigerians on social media are demanding to know those responsible for ordering the police and Army to kill peaceful protesters.

The 309-page report was submitted one month after the panel concluded its year-long sittings to investigate and award compensations to victims of police brutality.

Engr Adeniran Akande said:

"So who's going to be held responsible for this injustice don to Nigerian youth by this wicked leaders."

Mathew Obisesan said:

"I hope the people who ordered soldiers to carry out their evil bid will also be sent to life imprisonment? Soldiers don't enforce without order from above."

Babajide Olatunji Yusuf said:

"So what is the punishment to be given to the military and police officers that carried out the operation?"

Action governor: Sanwo-Olu begins serious work on Lagos EndSARS panel's reports

The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, November 15, announced his reception of the reports of the EndSARS commission of inquiry.

Via his Instagram page, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the panel Justice Doris Okuwobi and his members for their service.

The governor noted that in order to ensure swift implementation of the recommendations made in the report, his administration has set up a four-member committee led by the Lagos state attorney-general and commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) to raise a white paper.

He disclosed that members of the committee are: the commissioner for youths and social development, Segun Dawodu; his special adviser on works and infrastructure, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye and permanent secretary, cabinet office, Tolani Oshodi.
