Just In: Houses on Fire as ISWAP Terrorists Hit Borno Again
- Just 48 hours after engaging in a gun battle with troops of the Nigerian Army in Askira Uba LGA in Borno state, ISWAP terrorists have attacked the trouble council again
- The terrorists have reportedly set houses ablaze in Dille village in the local government area in the northeastern state

Askira Uba LGA, Borno state - A report by Daily Trust indicates suspected members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) are currently operating in Askira Uba local government area of Borno state.
According to the newspaper, the terrorists have reportedly set houses ablaze in Dille village in the local government area.
The newspaper further cited a source as saying that the terrorists stormed the village around 5.30pm.
Stores looted, houses burnt
The source whose name was not revealed said the terrorists looted many stores, carting away food items, adding that they torched the houses they stole from.

Legit.ng notes that the incident comes 48 hours after an intense battle between troops and terrorists in Askira Uba.
Brig-Gen Dzarma Zirkusu and three others soldiers were killed in the weekend attacks but the army retaliated by reportedly killing 50 terrorist commanders.
Spokesman of the Nigerian Army, Brig.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement, explained that troops of 115 Task Force Battalion conducted dawn exploitation towards Leho village and environs.
He noted that troops also discovered corpses of the fleeing terrorists and also recovered 2,560 rounds of 7.62mm Special and 29 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition abandoned by the terrorists.
Garba Shehu shares emotional throwback photo of general killed by ISWAP
Meanwhile, Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant, media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, November 15, shared a throwback photo of late Brigadier General Zirkusu.
The presidential spokesman in a post shared on Facebook, revealed that both Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Zirkusu are from the same village.
In the photo, Mustapha was seen addressing the people of his community after a Boko Haram attack left over 20 people dead in Danga community.
