Abuja- The minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, says the video camera he recovered at the Lekki tollgate after the #EndSARS protests, he does not know what happened to it.
The Punch reports that Fashola made this disclosure during an interview while noting that he handed over the camera to the Lagos state government.
The former governor of Lagos state, who had visited the state in October last year to assess the damage caused by hoodlums, spotted a camcorder at the toll plaza which he handed over to a government official.
The viral footage of Fashola’s “recovery” became a meme on social media and trended for several weeks.

Vanguard also reported that when asked what became of the camera, Fashola responded:
“You should not be asking me. You have the tapes showing that I handed it over to the government of Lagos so you have all the recordings. I think your people were there. So don’t ask me what happened to the camera. I don’t know.”
On what he thought about the struggle by the youths to take power in 2023, the minister said youths had ruled Nigeria more than the elderly.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Lai Mohammed, Nigeria's information minister, has demanded an apology from some organisations which it accused of lying against the Nigerian military.

Mohammed who addressed a press conference in Abuja attended by Legit.ng on Wednesday, October 20, said the reports of people killed by soldiers at the Lekki toll gate in October 2020 were false.
According to him, some individuals and organisations helped to drive the narrative that dozens of people were killed at the facility.

In another report, the minister of information and culture insisted that no human being was killed at the #EndSARS protests in October 2020.
The government's spokesman and minister of information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the comment at a press conference attended by Legit.ng in Abuja on Wednesday, October 20.
