List: Nigerian Army Retires 12 Generals in Kaduna Pull-Out Parade
The Nigerian Army on Friday, November 12, retired 12 senior military officers at a pull-out parade in Kaduna state.
The parade was among activities at the ongoing Infantry Corps annual leadership lectures and biennial reunion, at the Infantry Corps Centre in Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna state, Premium Times reported.

Major generals
1. Lamidi Adeosun, former Chief of Policy and Plans, Army Headquarters

Brigadier generals

10. D.M. Onoyiveta
Two other generals whose names were not mentioned were pulled out of active service, according to the report.
Retired general speaks
Meanwhile, Adeosun, a major general, spoke on behalf of the retired generals, at the event. He said the pulling out parade was part of military tradition.
His words:
“I am happy to state with every sense of pride that this valedictory pulling out parade is an indication that the Nigerian Army particularly the Infantry Corps is waxing stronger by adhering to its customs and traditions.
“Today is a day of many emotions; nostalgia, gratitude, joy and a sense of fulfillment."
Adeosun also thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, a lieutenant general, and the Commander Infantry Corps, Victor Ezugwu, a major general, for the opportunity of a rewarding and fulfilling life experience.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya, has urged the National Assembly to prevail on the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning to exempt the army from the envelope budgeting system.
Yahaya, while appearing before the Senate Committee on Army to defend the army’s 2022 budget proposal, said the envelope budgeting had been a major challenge to the army.
He said the army had proposed N710bn for the 2022 fiscal year, but the finance ministry reduced it to N579bn. The COAS said the reduction would impede the capacity and tempo of the Nigerian Army in carrying out its constitutional duties.
