Passengers in "Pain" at Benin Airport's Waiting Area with No Air Conditioners, VIP Lounge Charges N3,000

Benin City, Edo state - Passengers got discomforted at the waiting area of Benin Airport in Edo state and resorted to using different objects to fan themselves before their departure as there are no air conditioners.

The passengers are in their hundreds waiting to depart via different flights ranging from Aero, Air Peace, Max Air to Air for Lagos, Abuja and some other places.

The Benin Airport is located at Ogba-Oko community about 2km southwest of the ancient Benin Kingdom. The nearest community to the airport is Ekenwa aerodrome.

Some of the passengers were also sighted standing due to the unavailability of enough seats in the waiting area.

The traders within the waiting area displayed their foods unhealthily as against what is obtainable in other states in the country.

Legit.ng's regional reporter, Adeoye Adewunmi, gathered that the VIP lounge charges N3,000 without food but only for sitting.

Woman complained about airport treatment

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a video posted by Nigerian Comedienne Helen Paul showed an old woman lamenting the affairs of the Nigerian international airport.

She said when she got to the airport it was raining heavily. The woman added that the sum of N500 was charged to use a trolley.

The woman added that everywhere she has been around the world, she has never had to pay such as taxes could cover the cost.

In another report, an American travel vlogger, Sabbatical Tommy, has complained bitterly about his experience on visiting Nigeria for the first time.

Wearing a facemask while filming the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the man said that the corruption among officials is way too high.

Tommy stated that every protocol at the airport can be waived if one has money to pay the right person. He added that even if you do not want to have your bags checked, an official can be paid for it.
