Torsabo Solomon: Crucial Update Emerges on NAF Sergeant Reportedly Arrested Over NDA Attack

Yola, Adamawa state - Reports that a Nigerian Army sergeant, Torsabo Solomon, was arrested on Monday, November 8, for allegedly collaborating with bandits to attack the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has been debunked.
The NDA, through its spokesperson, Bashir Jajira, denied the claim in a statement made available to Premium Times.
Jajira in the statement noted that Solomon is neither in custody nor connected to the attack.
He said:
“This is to inform the general public that the above-named person is not in the Nigerian Defence Academy’s custody as alleged and has no connection with the Academy.
“The Nigerian Defence Academy is a Military Training Institution and not an Investigative Security Agency. The general public is hereby advised to disregard this misinformation and refer to relevant Investigative Security Agencies for clarification.”

However, the academy's public relations officer stated that at the moment investigations into the attack are still ongoing to bring the real culprits to book.
There were reports that Nigerian Air Force had arrested Sergeant Solomon over the recent attack on the NDA in Kaduna.
Recall that two officers were killed and one other officer was abducted when the academy was attacked by suspected bandits in August.
The Cable cited military sources as saying Solomon was arrested on Monday, November 8, at the NAF’s 153 BSG in Yola, Adamawa state capital.
It was also gathered that the order to arrest him came from Major-General IM Yusuf, the commandant of the NDA.
The arrested air force personnel is currently serving at Air Force Comprehensive School in Yola.
He is also suspected of selling arms and ammunition to bandits and criminals.
Following his arrest, he was said to have been taken to the NDA in Kaduna for further investigation, Channels TV also reported.
NDA attackers will be arrested no matter how long, says COAS
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, vowed that perpetrators of the attack on the Nigeria Defence Academy will be apprehended no matter how long it takes.
This information was contained in a statement released by NDA's spokesman, Bashir Jajira on Wednesday, September 1, and seen by Legit.ng.
The statement released by the NDA noted that the COAS visited the academy on Tuesday, August 31 for an assessment and also to address all the personnel at the facility.
NDA attack orchestrated to make FG look bad, says Femi Adesina
Meanwhile, presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina said the attack was orchestrated to make the Buhari government look bad.
Adesina also condemned those celebrating the attack on the military facility, saying such celebrations are evil.
He said:
“The news headlines, the slant of the stories, the analyses and discussions, all tended to paint a narrative of the humiliation of our military, the failure of government, and the fact that anarchy had been unleashed on the land.”
