Over 50 Cars, Villas in Dubai, US: Full List of Properties, Money Allegedly Owned by Maina According to EFCC
On Monday, November 8, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured the conviction of Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), over the N2.1 billion pension scam.

Maina was convicted on count 2, 3, 6, 7, 9 and 10 of the EFCC's charge against him and sentenced to eight years imprisonment.
Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court Abuja also ordered the forfeiture of some monies and assets linked to Maina.
Below is a list of the assets linked to the convicted former PRTT boss by the EFCC and its witnesses and the court pronouncements as mentioned in the statement released by the anti-graft agency:
- Cash deposits of N300million, N500million and N1.5billion in two bank accounts
- A property in Abuja (bought with $1.4million cash)
- Properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirate (a villa in a High Ground area in Dubai), United States of America
- A $2 million property in Jabi, Abuja
- Over 50 cars used for transportation business in Dubai
- Colster Logistics, a company belonging to Maina, had a dollar account which had an inflow of over $400,000
- Over N500 million in the account of Kangolo Dynamic, another firm owned by Maina

The above listed assets were tendered by the EFCC's witnesses as proceeds of public funds looted by Maina.
The drama in Maina's trial
The EFCC noted in its statement that Maina's trial was not without drama.
At a point, Maina collapsed in court forcing Justice Abang to adjourn his trial.
The former pension boss also at a point jumped bail but was arrested in Niger Republic and repatriated to Nigeria to face his trial.
21-year-old son of Maina sentenced to 14 years in prison
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Faisal Maina, the 21-year-old son of Abdulrasheed Maina, was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
Justice Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered the judgement on Thursday, October 7. The trial judge found Faisal guilty on a three-count money laundering charge preferred against him by the EFCC.
According to the judge, the EFCC was able to establish that Faisal operated a fictitious bank account with a first-generation bank through which his father, Maina, laundered N58.1million.
