“I am sure they were two boxes but an INEC official from his hiding place said it was just one."
While this was happening, another set of gunmen stormed the polling unit at the Immaculate Heart Church along Ziks Avenue and left with one ballot box.
Confusion as protests rock Nnewi, voters threaten not to allow election commence
Meanwhile, the Anambra governorship election was not going so well in a polling unit in Nnewi North local government area as some voters were protesting the alleged unavailability of original result sheets.
According to the protesting voters at Polling Unit 002, Enem Hall, Otolo Ward 2 in Nnewi North LGA, the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) failed to bring original result sheets.
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) identified as Chima Christian, told The Nation that there would be no voting at the polling unit until the electoral officials produce original result sheets. Christian stated:
“We have refused the commencement of accreditation/voting because the INEC officials did not come with the original result sheet. Until we sight the election result sheet, voting will not commence."
According to him, all those who are getting prepared to write election results in their hotel rooms will not succeed as they would meet their waterloo.
