Ikoyi: Elizade Founder Denies Selling Collapsed Building Land to Osinbajo

Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, founder of Elizade Motors and Elizade University, on Thursday, November 4, denied selling the land of the Ikoyi collapsed building to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
The Punch reports that the businessman made this known in reaction to an online report alleging that the land of the collapsed building was sold by him.
In a statement he personally signed, the founder of Elizade Motors said he does not own the land where the Ikoyi building collapsed, P.M News added.

However, he confirmed that he owns the property next to the collapsed building, adding that he’s not willing to sell it.

21-storey building collapses in Ikoyi
Recall that 28 persons had been confirmed dead following the collapse of a 21-storey building in the Ikoyi area of Lagos on Monday, November 1.
Nine other victims of the incident have also been rescued alive and are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Lagos.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) confirmed that the incident occurred at a building located at Gerrard Road in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.
Osinbajo has no relationship with owner of Ikoyi collapsed building
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Richard Akinola, one of the associates of Nigeria's vice president denied social media reports linking Osinbajo to the owner of the collapsed high-rise building in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Akinola in a terse statement sent to Legit.ng on Thursday, November 4, decried the desperation by some unknown persons to rope in the vice president in the unfortunate incident.
He noted that this is a period for sober reflections and not a time to play politics and tarnish the image of the vice president.
Ikoyi building collapse: Sanwo-Olu declares 3-day mourning
Meanwhile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has declared a three-day mourning for victims of the collapsed Ikoyi building in Lagos state.
In a statement issued on Thursday, November 4, released by the state's commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, Sanwo-Olu disclosed that 32 persons have been confirmed dead as a result of the tragedy.
The governor said all flags will be flown at half-mast in public and private buildings and official engagements cancelled for three days starting from Friday, November 5, to Sunday, November 7.
