Full List of Successful Candidates for Recruitment into Nigeria Customs Service Released

The Nigerian Customs Service on Tuesday, November 2, released the final result of its 2021 recruitment exercise.

According to a statement on the service's website, the listed candidates are required to report to the office of the Comptroller Establishment, Nigerian Customs Service, Old Federal Secretariat, Area 1, Garki, Abuja from Monday, November 8, to Tuesday December, 7 for documentation.

The candidates are expected to go along with the following:

  1. Original certificate
  2. Indigene letter
  3. Birth certificate/Declaration of Age
  4. Four (4) photocopies each of the credentials
  5. Four (4) passport photographs

Bandit not recruited as customs officer

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Customs Service has reacted to a video making rounds on social media platforms with the claim that a repentant bandit was recruited into the service.

The NCS clarified that the officer in the video in question was recruited through a rigorous process and trained in 2011 and has just grown to the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Customs (3 stars).

An independent investigation of the viral video also concluded that the claim that the customs officer in the video was the same person as a bandit posing with a governor was false.

Nigeria customs speaks as fake auctions, recruitment flood social media

Similarly, the customs previously warned the general public against the activities of internet fraudsters running fake recruitment and auctions.

The NCS in a statement released by its spokesman, Joseph Attah, and sighted by Legit.ng said its attention has been drawn to the proliferation of fake social media accounts impersonating senior customs officers to publicise fake auctions and recruitment exercise.

The statement noted that the miscreants behind the illegal activities are now using false testimonies by supposed beneficiaries of the auctions thanking senior customs officers for their alleged facilitation.

Governor Masari threatens to sue customs over killings in Katsina

In other news, following the killing of 10 residents during a border drill operation in the Jibia area of Katsina state, Governor Aminu Bello Masari, recently threatened legal action against the NCS.

The Masari, in a statement by his director-general media, Abdulabaran Malumfashi, condemned the frequent killing of innocent residents in the state by the NCS.

He noted that his government would henceforth not condone any more of such incidents again.
