Anxiety as Bandits Invade Church Again, Kill One, Abduct 60 Worshippers

Kakau Daji, Kaduna - A report by The Guardian reports that gunmen believed to be bandits attacked a church in Kaduna state, killing one and kidnapping at least 60 worshippers.

The incident happened on Sunday, October 31, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kakau Daji, Chikun local government area of the northern state.

In another report by Daily Trust, the abductors attacked the church while the Sunday service was still ongoing shooting sporadically.

Speaking further Hayab, said he could only confirm 60, based on the report from the villagers amid reports that about 100‎ people were abducted.

Kaduna State Commissioner Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the the death of one worshipper identifed as Yusuf Dauda, but was silent on the number of the people kidnapped.

According to an earlier report by Legit.ng, gunmen struck in Maza-Kuka in the Mashegu local government area of Niger state, killing about 17 persons in the early hours of Monday, October 25.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane, confirmed the incident.

The attack left three others injured, the whereabouts of about 18 villagers are unknown. They were said to have been abducted by the gunmen.

Meanwhile, gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday, October 26, kidnapped eight funeral guests at Itapaji-Ekiti in Ikole Council Area of Ekiti state.

The incident occurred barely a week after four persons were abducted at Ayebode-Ekiti in the same local government.

the gunmen besieged a house located in the heart of the town around 9.30pm and shot sporadically into the air before making away with 14 occupants of the building.
