PDP: I Will Not Accept This Judgement, Secondus Says, Heads to Supreme Court

The suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has vowed to head to the Supreme Court.
According to him, no abuse of the constitution of PDP should be allowed to stand.

Going further, he insisted that the case in court was not about himself but about the sanctity of PDP’s constitution and core democratic principles of justice and rule of law.
He clarified that he did not at any time take PDP to court and would not have done that.

He said:
“I have just been briefed of the ruling of the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt dismissing my motion to halt the National Convention of the party. I respect the position of the court even though I disagree totally with it.
“Even as the substantive case is still pending at the Court of Appeal I have instructed my lawyers to study the ruling with a view to appealing it immediately as no abuse of the constitution of our dear party should be allowed to stand.
“The issue is not about Prince Uche Secondus but about the sanctity of our party constitution and core democratic principles of justice and rule of law not only in PDP but in our democracy. No impunity must be condoned.”
PDP convention: Party leaders move to prevail on Secondus to drop suit
Meanwhile, other leaders of the PDP have swung into action with the hope of saving the party from impending doom.
The leaders were reportedly pleading with Secondus to have a rethink.
A source in PDP said several party leaders have arrived in Abuja in preparation for the national convention while a whole other have concluded plans to be present at the event. According to the source, it would be unfair for Secondus to be the one to cause such a crisis within the party ranks.

Meanwhile, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state, has spoken on the possibility of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2023.
Appearing as a guest on Arise News TV on Friday, October, the former governor was asked if he will consider returning to the APC amid the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former Kano governor who is the leader of the Kwankwasiyya political movement said he is still a member of the PDP and will continue to work with his colleagues to ensure the party succeeds.
