Fear Engulfs Imo Community As Hoodlums Gun Down Resident

  • A resident of Abba, Nwangele local government area of Imo state has been killed by some unknown gunmen

Imo state - A young man has been gunned down by some hoodlums in Abba, Nwangele local government area of Imo state.

How the resident of Nwangele was gunned down

Daily Trust reports that the man identified as Fidelis Nnadi was killed by the unidentified hoodlums along Okwelle-Umuezealaibe road in Imo state on Wednesday, October 27.

Also recently, Police stations in Imo state have also had their own fair share of attacks with several officers caught in the line of fire.

Various attacks by yet to be identified gunmen in Imo state

On Saturday, October 3, troops and youths in the Ohaji Egbema local government area of Imo state were involved in a clash.

The incident led to the loss of lives and property across the community.

According to eyewitnesses, a fierce battle ensued between the youths of the community and soldiers of the Nigerian military after a soldier was ambushed and killed by some yet to be identified individuals.

The late soldier's rifle was said to have also been stolen by the people who killed him.

Subsequently, there was a reprisal attack from troops of the Nigerian military following the killing of their colleague in the community.

The soldiers who launched the attack on the community were said to have destroyed and burnt houses belonging to residents.

According to the report, the attack led to the death of three persons, including two military men, and the burning of tens of houses in the community.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that gunmen operating in Umuelemai, Isiala Mbano local government area of Imo state attacked a Police station in the area.

The gunmen were said to have destroyed vital things in the facility and freed some suspects who were detained at the Police station.

Also, the gunmen successfully set the Police state ablaze forcing several officers on duty to flee from the station.
