Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker from Kaduna state has narrated his encounter with an angry crowd of youths protesting against kidnappings.
The outspoken senator who recently defected to the opposition's People Democratic Party (PDP) said being a "former” lawmaker can save on these days.
He made this known in a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, October 19, and sighted by Legit.ng.

"I was driving when an angry crowd of youths protesting against kidnappings blocked the road; One of them sighted me and shouted “see Senator” and they moved towards me with sticks; I quickly corrected him “former Senator”, then they lowered their sticks, showered praises on me and I speedily drove off. My Brothers and Sisters, “former” fit save you these days."

Senator Shehu Sani finally defects to PDP ahead of 2023
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Sani defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His defection was confirmed by his close aide, Malam Suleiman Ahmed.
He said Sani confirmed his defection on Thursday, September 16, when he had a meeting with some PDP leaders in Kaduna, Leadership also reported.
Legit.ng notes that Senator Sani represented Kaduna Central Senatorial district in the 8th Assembly from 2015-2019 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
