Famous Ghanaian event organiser and businesswoman, Afua Asantewaa, has embarked on a mission to break the record for the longest singing streak ever attempted by a human.
The entrepreneur and mother aims to sing continuously for five days, with the possibility of extending beyond, to achieve her self-set goal.
She surprised supporters and fans by appearing without any facial adornments on the first day of the challenge.
She was clothed in a magnificent three-quarter-sleeved African-made dress crafted from gold fabric.

The African queen kicked off the highly anticipated journey with renditions of hit songs by renowned singers like the late Ebony Reigns, Wendy Shay, Becca Adina, and Sefa.
Nigerian Singer Challenges Ghana's Afua Aduonum
Interestingly, another popular Nigerian vocal artist has also expressed interest in attempting the same record. It remains to be seen which of the two committed stars will emerge victorious.
For online fans, it's a matter of ‘may the best lady win’ as the ultimate crown will belong to an African at the end of the challenge.

Nigerian lady sets new Guinness World Record for longest handmade wig
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a Nigerian woman, Helen Williams, secured a Guinness World Records title by crafting a handmade wig.
The wig she created measured 351.28 meters, verified by Guinness World Records officials.
Helen initiated this endeavour in 2023 and dedicated 11 days to crafting this wig, solidifying her entry into the record books.
