Travis Scott Pauses Concert in New York Over Safety Concerns: "Make Sure You're Okay"

Travis Scott commended for checking in on fans during perfomance

The Sicko Mode rapper saw audience members sitting atop a lighting structure and stopped mid-performance to ask them to climb down from a lighting post

According to People Magazine, a video which went viral showed the 31-year-old telling the audience to get down and ensure they were okay first.

Travis' safety measures come barely a year since his concert, Astroworld, resulted in the death of ten people.

"We need you all to get down," said Travis.

In another video, the Highest In The Room hitmaker could be seen and heard asking fans if they were okay.

"Hey yo, my bro, my brother, just make sure you're okay though, my brother. You hear me?" he said.

This was as the fans made their way down from the top of the structure, and then he continued with his eccentric performance.

One of his representatives reacted to the viral videos and defended the musician explaining he was committed to ensuring that he does his part during concerts.

"Travis is committed to doing his part to ensure events are as safe as possible so that fans can have fun, and he encouraged fans to listen to requests from security and climb down from the lighting structures so that everyone would be able to safely enjoy last night's performance," he said.

Travis opens up about tragic concert

During his first interview since the Astroworld concert tragic accident that left ten people dead, the rapper said he didn't know about the accident until a few minutes before the press conference.

He added that when one is on stage, they see so many lights and hear so many sounds that it is hard to differentiate between a cry for help and the excitement from fans.

"As an artiste you just do the creative. And we just trust the professionals to make people are taken care of and leave safely. I can control what I can on stage and have professionals control what they can with the crowd," he said.
