The eighth edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) was held recently and it saw Nigerian superstar Wizkid bag three awards.
Wizkid beat others to emerge as the artiste of the year. His music, Essence, featuring Tems, won song of the year and best African collaboration.

The Essence crooner battled with artistes from Nigeria like Davido, Adekunle Gold, Ladipoe, among others to emerge the winner. Artistes from other countries include Taycofficel from Cameroon, Focalistic from South Africa, and many others.
Wizkid's music producer also bagged an award, to the joy of his fans.

I genuinely respect him
American music superstar, Ne-Yo, made a revelation that cheered Wizkid's fans up. The singer during his edition of soundtrack of my life declared his admiration for the Nigerian music star.
Ne-Yo regretted not being the person that wrote Wizkid's big hit Essence featuring Tems and spoke fondly about how the track can be repeated severally without any hindrance.
The songwriter further spoke about how he met Wizkid and showered praises on him.
