It is a painful time for popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta, who has announced the passing of his godson.
The Yoruba movie star took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, posting a photo of the deceased alongside a tribute.
In his short but emotional message, Chatta wrote:
"Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on Dear Godson. Champ."

His colleague, Opeyemi Aiyeola had also debunked reports that the deceased was the biological son of the actor. She noted he was the godson.
The tribute, heavy with grief, has left many of his fans and colleagues speechless.

Nollywood actors mourn recent family losses
Legit.ng reported that veteran Yoruba actress Peju Ogunmola's only son passed on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Actress Biola Adebayo announced his death on Instagram.
Similarly, another Yoruba actress, Joke Jigan, had lost her sister, Lizzy.
She shared photos of herself and the deceased, questioning why death is everywhere as she contemplated logging off from social media. Mourning her sister, she told her to rest in peace.
Also, veteran actress Joke Silva lost his brother, John Olabiyi Silva.
The actress confirmed the heartbreaking news on August 29, 2025, via Instagram, where she posted his picture alongside a tribute.

Ibrahim Chatta's surgery dinner raises eyebrows
Legit.ng had reported that the kind of meal Ibrahim Chatta took despite being in his 50s surfaced online, and fans have shown their concern.
In the clip, he was seen with a bowl of yogurt, nuts, syrup, and some other sweet items, which he placed on the table.
When asked why he was taking such at his age and he replied and boasted about his tribe in the viral clip.
