Everything was going smoothly until it dawned on her that the individual was, in fact, a drug dealer.
It would dawn on her, albeit too late, that the supposed lover was actually from Sierra Leone.
Things went south when Sandie and the man identified as Alfred Bangura were hijacked by three cars while on their way to Mombasa.
Ambushed, left broke
The hijackers took everything the couple had including a suitcase full of cash estimated to be about US $250 000 (N104million).
Sandie revealed that the robbers took everything and left her with only the clothes she was wearing, luckily her passport was in one of her pockets.

The thugs shot her boyfriend in the knees and threw him by the roadside.
Stuck in a foreign country, Sandie approached the Zimbabwean Embassy in Kenya where videos of her appealing for help were made.
Back home, finally
Evidently, her pleas for help were worth it as well-wishers heeded the call and contributed to paying for her flight back to Zimbabwe.
In a video soon after arriving home, the socialite thanked all those who contributed towards making her safe return home.
"At last, I have arrived home. Thank you so much for your contributions guys. I have arrived home. Let me call my daughter, I’m sure she can’t wait to see mummy," she said.
The video ends with her hugging a young excited girl and telling her that mummy was back home.
