Veteran basketballer Shaquille O'Neal has touched the heart of many people online after paying restaurant bills for people who were with him in the same eating joint.

According to Page Six, the athlete arrived at Chelsea hotspot Jue Lan Club with a mystery woman at around 8:30 pm and by the end of the night, he was footing the bill for the entire eatery.

Witnesses who were present at the restaurant said the retired basketball star popped in with the unidentified woman, whom he was overheard describing as his date and they ordered Beijing chicken, shrimp tempura and the restaurant’s signature chicken satay.

“She did all the ordering. And to top that off, he paid for everyone’s check [who was] dining at the restaurant said one of the sources.

After their sumptuous meal, the 50-year-old athlete proceeded to buy dinner for the entire service team.

The team working at the restaurant also added that O’Neal wanted to keep his generosity a secret from fellow diners.

He asked the staff not to mention that he was paying the bill for over 40 tables until he left the restaurant, according to the source.

In total, the estimated amount the basketball legend paid totalled to N10.2 million in checks.

He also left the staff a huge tip they have ever received in the restaurant which left them referring to the celebrity as an extremely generous person.

O'Neal opens up about messing up past marriage

In a different report, the veteran basketballer reminisced the mistakes he made in his past marriage and shared he was living a double life.

He said his ex-wife Shaunie whom he shares four kids was a lovely wife who upheld the vows she made on their wedding day.

His ex-wife walked down the aisle in May after getting engaged to US pastor Keion Henderson in 2021.
