Award-winning actor Will Smith's mother, Carolyn Smith, has spoken about her son's recent action that got the whole world wondering.
I have never seen him go off
According to NBC News, Carolyn said she's never seen her son go off like he did when he hit Chris Rock at the Oscars on Sunday, March 27.
She insisted her son is an accommodating person as he has never been that violent before.

"He is a very even, people person. That’s the first time I have ever seen him go off. First time in his lifetime. I have never seen him do that,” Carolyn told ABC affiliate WPVI of Philadelphia.
Smith slapping Rock
The altercation happened on stage after the stand-up comedian said that he was excited to watch Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett, in the sequel of “G.I. Jane."
Pinkett, who in 2018 revealed she was diagnosed with alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss, could be seen rolling her eyes at the joke.
After hitting Rock, Smith returned to his seat and twice told him:
"Keep my wife’s name out your mouth."
Smith later won the best actor for his depiction of Richard Williams, father of tennis greats Venus and Serena, in King Richard.

During his speech, he apologized to his fellow nominees and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and compared himself to Williams.

In other news, a day after the story went viral across the world, Smith has come out to Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive.
In a statement on social media, the I am Legend star condemned his own behaviour at the previous night’s Academy Awards, terming it as unacceptable and inexcusable.
He explained that as much as jokes at his expense is a part of the job, a joke about his wife's medical condition was too much to bear, making him react emotionally.
