Nollywood Mourns As Veteran Actor Lari Williams Passes Away at 81 After Long Illness

It's still quite early in 2022 and the Nigerian movie industry has lost yet another seasoned veteran, Lari Williams to the cold hands of death. The late actor passed away after battling an illness for a long time.

According to reports, Chief Williams succumbed to death on Sunday, February 27, in his home in Ikom, Cross River state.

Williams was famous for his roles in hit soap operas such as Village Headmaster, Ripples, and Mirror in The Sun.

Nollywood stars show up for late Sam Obiago’s final burial

Nollywood finally laid to rest one of its own, Sam Obiago aka Daddy Sam, and his colleagues attended to pay their last respect to him.

Daddy Sam, unfortunately, passed away on December 23, 2021, and the movie industry was thrown into heavy mourning.

Several Nollywood stars like Mike Ezuruonuye, Emeka Okoye, Ebelle Okaro, Ugezu J. Ugezu, and others who attended the event in Delta state took to social media with photos and videos.

A night of tribute was also held in honour of the late Obiago who was a good colleague and man to all.

Actress Amarach Igidimbah penned an emotional note and noted that even while the late Obiago was sick and she was as well, he kept checking up on her.

Helena Duru loses gateman to substance abuse on her way to actor Daddy Sam’s funeral

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Helena Duru took to social media to announce the sad passing of her gateman.

The actress said she was getting ready to attend the funeral of her late senior colleague, Daddy Sam when her gateman gave up the ghost.

Helena claimed that the individual died as a result of substance abuse as she warned members of the public to tread carefully.

The actress filmed a video where she explained all that happened as the gateman’s body was deposited at the morgue.
