Celebrated actor Alec Baldwin has revealed that he did not fire the gun that killed a cinematographer on the set of the movie, Rust.
Tragic accident
The actor in a recent media interview insisted that he did not pull the trigger of a prop gun he was using during the movie shoot.
Speaking during an interview with US broadcaster, ABC, Baldwin noted he still does not understand why the gun fired itself.

"Well, the trigger wasn't pulled. I didn't pull the trigger," Baldwin said during the interview.
During the emotional interview, actor Baldwin could be seen breaking down in tears.
"I have no idea. Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property," Baldwin added.
Legit.ng earlier reported a cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins was killed when a gun in Baldwin's hand discharged on the set of a Western movie near Santa Fe.
Cinematographer's death
On October 21, Halyna Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza was wounded following the accidental shooting.
Baldwin had previously called the incident a "tragic accident."
No criminal charges have been filed after the unfortunate incident.
The Santa Fe Sheriff's Department disclosed that it had no comment on Baldwin's interview statements.
Investigators noted that it is too early to determine whether criminal charges will be filed.
Legit.ng understands two crew members had earlier filed civil lawsuits accusing Baldwin, the producers of the film and others on the production of negligence and lax safety protocols.
Some staff had also complained about difficult working conditions, leading to a walk-off from the set.
Alec Baldwin speaks on friendship with late cinematographer
Actor Alec Baldwin has talked about the kind of friendship he shared with cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who died recently in a horrific accident.
The actor made the first public comment on the incident during the production, declaring he was a close friend of the late Halyna and her family.
On Saturday, October 30, Alec stopped on the roadside to speak to journalists who had been following him and lamented that his kids were crying in the car due to the unnecessary attention.
