Gov Soludo Awards Scholarship to Anambra Teenage Girl With Highest UTME Score

Outstanding teenage girl Nkechinyere Umeh, who scored the highest points in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has been awarded a scholarship by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state.

The development was made known on Tuesday, July 11, via a statement issued by Governor Soludo's press secretary Christian Aburime.

The young Umeh, who is a student of Deeper High School and a native of Anambra State, scored 360 points out of 400 points to emerge as the best candidate for this year's examination.

A breakdown of her result saw her score 66 in English Language, 98 in mathematics, 97 in physics, and 99 in Chemistry.

In his congratulatory message, Governor Soludo hailed Miss Umeh for her exceptional performance and for making Anambra State and its people proud.

As reported by Vanguard, Governor Soludo said:

“The governor has announced a well-deserved scholarship for her to study any course of her choice at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
“The scholarship will not only serve as a token of the state government’s appreciation for her hard work but also provide her with the opportunity to pursue her dreams and contribute to the development of the state in the future."

Soludo wished Umeh continued success in her future academic pursuits and encouraged other young Anambra students to be inspired by Umeh’s outstanding performance.

He said they should take advantage of the improved, conducive learning environment in the State and strive for excellence at all times.

In another development, details of Mmesoma Ejikeme's original 2023 UTME result, as released by JAMB, have emerged.

According to JAMB, Mmesoma scored 249 against the 362 she has been parading for over two months.

The original UTME result breakdown shows Mmesoma did not score 90 in any of the four exam subjects.
