AAUA SSANU gets new leader as Tayo Ogungbeni is elected chairman
- Tayo Ogungbeni has been elected as AAUA branch chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU)
- The Ikale born prince promised that he will do everything to make life better for members of the association
- Meanwhile, he called on all contestants and all members to join hands with him in moving the association forward

Prince Tayo Ogungbeni has been elected branch chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko on Monday, October 18.
Ogungbeni who got overwhelming support of his colleagues was in a jubilant mood when he spoke with Legit.ng.

In his acceptance speech, he returned promised not to disappoint those who elected him to the position. Going further, he promised that his administration will vigorously defend and pursue the rights of members of the association.

Let me appreciate our great God that has done great things in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. Few weeks ago, it was as if the BQC won't hold but we appreciate God for His divine intervention and for the success of the congress.
Let me thank our beloved members for their unquantifiable support before, during and after the BQC. You are all appreciated for coming out enmasse to perform your civic obligations to the Union. The task before the newly elected Branch Executive Committee (BEC) is very enormous and I'm assuring you all that we shall confront them head long.
It is no longer a news that the University Council approved the implementation of the new minimum wage for us but up till now, we didn't know when it will be implemented. We also know that the University Council approved the implementation of the Earned Allowance with effect from 2020 while arrears from 2015 to 2019 should be paid when the the finances of the University improves. As a Union, we shall continue to pray for God's interventions in the finances of the University as well as providing qualitative advice on how our finances could be improved.
Also, the need for the approval of our Career Structure shall be pursue vigorously. This BEC shall adopt a 'LCDA' approach with the Management.
L stands for lobbying,
C stands for Consultations,
D stands for Dialogue, and;
A stands for Action.
Let me re-emphasize that we shall not depart from what will make our members to be happy. Your welfare shall be our overall priority at all times and we shall lead you with the fear of God and absolute transparency.
Fellow Comrades, like I said during my campaign that election is a process that will come and go but SSANU shall remain. Let us forget the past and forge ahead for a better future in togetherness. As the Bible says ''there is time for everything under the sun"; this is the time for us to re-strategize and ensure that SSANU becomes a Union to be reckoned with in and outside the University community.
Neither Ogungbeni nor the BEC members alone can perform this onerous task but in togetherness, we can move mountains. Let me be seeing you behind me always in any decision we want to take.
To all the contestants, you have contributed to the enrichment of the electoral processes of SSANU and you are all my heros/heroines. I'm particularly appreciative of my beautiful sister, Comrade A.O. Akingbesote for her sportsmanship spirit. You are specially appreciated for making me to be on my toes throughout the electoral period. Be rest assured that you shall be consulted from time to time for your useful suggestions and advice.
Comrade T.I. Salami led Credentials Committee has proven that we have what it takes in SSANU to conduct a successful elections for Nigeria government. You have all done well and you are specially appreciated for the services rendered to SSANU-AAUA.
I can't but appreciate the University Management for not interfering in the conduct of SSANU elections. We also appreciate you for releasing for our use a coaster bus during the elections. Thank you so much for your love for SSANU-AAUA,
Let me assure you once again that we shall build on the achievements of Comrade Tope Famuti's led regime for the betterment of our members. Thank you all for your massive support, my dear comrades.
