Together We Can: Power Oil WalkHeartOn Promotes Heart Health through Quality Nutrition
Power Oil, a trusted name in heart-healthy cooking oils, recently championed heart wellness with its “Together We Can” campaign, underscoring how quality nutrition and well-sourced food items from trusted sources is fundamental to good heart health. Through this initiative, Power Oil, in partnership with the Kanu Heart Foundation, helped fund life-saving heart surgeries for three individuals, with proceeds from every bottle purchased supporting the cause. The campaign concluded with Power Oil’s 9th annual WalkHeartOn event, a 6-kilometer walk encouraging Nigerians to prioritize heart health by making quality dietary choices.
“Quality nutrition is essential to maintaining a healthy heart, and Power Oil is proud to be a part of that journey for Nigerians,” said Roland Akpe, Marketing Manager, Oils Portfolio at Tolaram Group.
“Together We Can reinforces that by choosing quality products like Power Oil, consumers aren’t just nourishing themselves—they’re actively contributing to better heart health for all.”
Aligning with the campaign’s message, Dr. Benjamin Okereke from the Nigeria Heart Foundation spoke at the event, sharing insights on the vital role that quality nutrition plays in cardiovascular health. Dr. Okereke thanked participants for their commitment to heart wellness and applauded their choice to consume heart-friendly products like Power Oil, which support healthy cholesterol levels and promote a heart-conscious lifestyle.
The WalkHeartOn event, attended by over 3,000 people, celebrated the importance of making informed dietary and lifestyle choices, with participants echoing the sentiment that heart health begins in the kitchen. Mr. Tirenioluwa Gbewesa, a recipient of one of the campaign-funded surgeries, addressed attendees, expressing gratitude for the support of Power Oil consumers, whose choices helped him gain a second chance at life.
The event, held in honour of World Heart Day, has become a signature occasion where Nigerians gather to walk, learn, and celebrate heart health. This year’s WalkHeartOn was a lively affair with performances by popular Nigerian artists Skales and Faze, formerly of Plantashun Boiz, who inspired the crowd to continue making heart-friendly choices.
As Nigerians walked, cheered, and learned about heart health, Power Oil’s commitment to quality and wellness shone brightly. The Together We Can campaign proved that by prioritizing quality products in daily life, Nigerians are making investments in their own health and the health of others. Power Oil’s WalkHeartOn ended on an uplifting note, empowering participants to prioritize quality, moderation and a balanced lifestyle in their journey toward heart health.
