When Big Brother Naija season 5 began, one of the contestants who stood out from the very beginning was 24-year-old Eric Akhigbe from Edo State.
His stunning muscles, coupled with his budding romance with fellow housemate Lilo, quickly made him draw the attention of many fans. But who is he beyond BBNaija? Here is all you need to know about Eric.

The BBNaija season 5 housemate was born in 1996. At the moment, he is 24 years old. The Edo State native is the eldest in a family of six children.
Education and basketball career
In his BBNaija interview, Eric disclosed that he went to boarding school, which helped him become street smart.
The bodybuilder went to secondary school at his home town then moved to Lagos to further his tertiary education.
He first attended Covenant University but dropped out to pursue his basketball career after three years. Sadly, his NBA dream was shattered after he suffered an accident that affected his knee.
At the moment, Akhigbe is a final year university student at the University of Lagos.
Another fun fact about the man’s life is that he tried to get into the Nigeria Defense Academy, but he was disqualified because he has flat feet.
BBNaija romance: Eric and Lilo’s romance
23-year-old Lilo Aderogba and 24-year-old Eric clicked from the first day in the house and remained inseparable ever since.
Even though Lilo talked of a boyfriend outside the house and Eric said that Lilo is not his spec, the two seemed to be getting closer and closer each day, and even shared a kiss after a Saturday Night Party.
Their romance was, however, cut short when Lilo was evicted out of the house during the first eviction.
Eric evicted
Just one week after his love interest Lilo was evicted from the house, Eric was voted out by fellow housemates on Sunday, 9th August 2020.
Eric barely showed any emotion as he was announced as the first evictee of the night. When Ebuka asked him about his relationship with Lilo, he replied that he was still interested in pursuing a relationship with her.
Akghibe also revealed that he harboured no ill feelings for his housemates and that he was very distracted in the first week, which may have led to his eviction.
So far, two male and two female contestants have been evicted from the Big Brother House. Now, only 16 housemates are left to battle it out for the grand prize worth 85 million Naira.
