Politicians like other people are sometimes caught in awkward situations. Yet, when politicians are caught, it most likely makes the front page.

Thanks to great photographers, such awkward moments can live forever in people's memories.

Here are 10 Nigerian politicians that have over time being caught in awkward situations:

1. Jaja Wachukwu

To begin with, let's go back to as far back as 1960. The first on record is Jaja Wachukwu a royal prince of Ngwaland, "descendant of 20 generations of African chiefs in the Igbo country of Eastern Nigeria, was a Pan-Africanist, and a Nigerian statesman, lawyer, politician, diplomat and humanitarian.

He was the first Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives. Jaja Anucha Wachukwu fell asleep at a UN meeting in New York in 1960.

2. Monsurat Adedoyin

About a year ago, a supposed Lagos state female politician and former deputy chairman of Ikorodu local government area, Monsurat Adedoyin, was caught performing rituals.

According to a Facebook user, Obiazi in a post said: “Mrs.Munirat Adedoyin. She is the former Deputy Chairman of Ikorodu local Government Area. She is about to contest for the position of the Chairman of the local government. She was caught in the act by some good ‘samaritans’ and the information and the photographs were passed to security agencies.”

3. Olusegun Obasanjo

It made the headlines, and why not. Obasanjo, known as Olusegun Mathew Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo is a former Nigerian Army general who was President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007.

Obasanjo was a career soldier before serving twice as his nation’s head of state. So you can tell why it was really big news, when he was caught sleeping at an event.

4. Umar Ganduje

Kano state governor, Umar Ganduje. He is often referred to as the ‘Sleeping governor’ as he sleeps almost every time in public function.

He is the Governor of Kano state, having been elected on 13 April 2015, and sworn in on 29 May 2015. He is also a former two-term Deputy Governor of Kano state, serving from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015 under the administration of Rabiu Kwankwaso.

5. Dino Melaye

Senator Dino Melaye is popular for always doing the outrageous. In this picture he tweeted a while ago, he is seen with Zaaki Adze the popular musician, with a tray of boiled groundnuts on his head.

He was trying to according to him experience his past and humble beginnings again.

6. Bola Ahmed Tinubu

This picture of former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is epic. The picture taken sometime in 2014 seems like Tinubu is staring in the ‘direction’ of  Shade Okoya, wife of billionaire businessman, Razak Okoya. What is even more epic is the expression of his wife, Remi Tinubu.

What was he really staring at? I don't know.

7. Ayo Fayose

Ayo Fayose grew up in Ibadan, Oyo state where he attended Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo. He is married to Feyisetan. He conducted one of the most sought after medical outreach programmes during his political campaign in 2001.

In the picture above, he was seen with workers in the state prostrated before him for coming late to work. Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state reportedly arrived at the gates of the state secretariat as early as 8:00 am to supervise the arrival of state workers to the secretariat.
