A remote village in China has hit the headlines after it was discovered that there are 39 pairs of twins of total 367 households.

Qingyuan is located in mountainous Chongqing and high up at an altitude of 1100 metres with an annual sunshine of around 867 hours.

It is called a twin village as there is a set of twins in almost every class at the local elementary school. Nevertheless, the locals still don't know what is the reason for such a rare occurence.

Some of them even claim that the village's chickens are laying double yolk eggs. However, multiple researches on the village's anomaly didn't yeild any results.

Local media reports that the oldest set of twins in the village are 89 years old!

Huang Haiqing is also a well-known person in the community as he has an outstanding family with three generations of twins.

Huang has a twin brother who also had twin sons and his grandsons are a pair of twins. His niece also gave birth to twin sons! Whoa!

And while some people find it hard to believe that so many twins can be born at one specific place, other even have moved to the village in the hope that they will give birth to twins.
