11 popular snacks from the 70s, 80s, 90s we love and miss
Growing up was much fun and there were some popular snacks from the 70s, 80s and 90s and food that a lot of adults would love to bring back.
Very recently, a friend of mine was full of joy that she found Frunas which she has been praying for, for the past two years. She was so happy that she bought everything from the guy selling it just in case it disappears the next day.
I’m sure a lot of us are like that. We wouldn’t mind going back in time to bring back snacks like pepper biscuit, lolly, Jamil yoghurt and others.
For those born in the 21 century, they might not have an idea of what these snacks were like and would be wondering why the fuss.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane.
1. Sprint and Banana bubble gums: This was one of the best chewing gums. The wrap contained riddles and current affair questions and answers.
2. Fishy, speedy, coconut biscuits: These were the king of biscuits then. Many biscuits have gone into extinction, Okin, coaster, short cake biscuit and so on. Kids of these days don’t even take biscuits to school any more.
3. Goody-Goody: who remembers this yummy, very soft and succulent chocolate. Wonder why they stopped it's production. “Goody-goody so goody goody, so chewy chewy,” this was the intro to the all so famous jingle.
4. Bazooka Joe bubble gum: Remember the bubble gum which had a mischievous character called Joe that kids loved.
5. Planta margarine: This dominated the market for so long and the advert was very popular.
