1. Her full name is Abike Kafayat Oluwatoyin Dabiri-Erewa.

2. She was born in Jos, Plateau state, to the family of Alhaji and Alhaja Ashafa Erogbogbo of Ikorodu. Her father, Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo, is one of the children of the late Alh. Sule Erogbogbo of Adegorunsen Compound.

3. She attended Maryland Private School, Maryland, Ikeja, for her primary school education and St. Teresa’s College, Ibadan, for her secondary education. She obtained her first degree in English language from Obafemi Awolowo University. She obtained a post graduate diploma (PGD) in mass communication and also a master's degree in mass communication from the University of Lagos, Akoka.

4. She also studied at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in the USA.

5. She worked for the Nigerian Television Authority for fifteen years, anchoring the weekly NTA Newsline programme and taking a particular interest in poverty and social justice issues.

6. She retired from her position at NTA to stand for election in the House of Representatives, winning with a substantial majority.

7. She was the chairman of the House Committee on media and publicity and the chair of the House Committee on Diaspora Affairs.

8.  She stood against the third term bid of former president of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo.

9. Abike got married to Segun Erewa in 2007, after the couple met two years earlier in South Africa.

10. In 2015, she was listed among the top 250 most influential women in the world by Richtopia.com that takes into account various metrics from Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, Youtube, LinkedIn and Instagram.
