There has been an ongoing lobby for Nigerians to patronize their own products in order for the economy to increase positively and be diversified.

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce representing Bayelsa East senatorial constituency in the National Assembly has decided to set the pace.

The senator, who is trying to encourage Nigerians to buy Made-in Nigeria products, just acquired Innoson cars.

Sharing the pictures on his official twitter handle, Murray-Bruce said he would use the Innoson cars as his official cars.

He added that he will be getting the bullet proof version in 90 days time.

Senator Murray Bruce said he bought the cars with his own money and not government funds.

Earlier today, some made in Nigeria cars were spotted at the senate car park of the National Assembly. The Innoson cars which were six in number included a jeep, a van and other salon vehicles.

The call to patronize made in Nigeria goods started after the Made in Aba trade fair which took place at Area 11, Garki Abuja on Monday, February 8.

At the trade fair, Cornel Osigwe, the spokesman of Innoson Motors revealed that the company would try to get the National Assembly to acquire its cars as its official car.

Senate president, Bukola Saraki pledged the support of the Senate to local manufacturers in 2016, saying government’s patronage will be ensured through policies.
