Governor Wamakko To Employ 100 Graduates As Drivers

Sokoto State Governor, Aliyu Wamakko, who on Tuesday approved the immediate employment of 100 holders of diploma certificates as drivers for ministries, departments and agencies said the gesture is sequel to the changing trend which requires educated persons to handle hi-tech and modern vehicles.

According to NAN, this was made known in a statement issued in Sokoto by the state’s Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Bature Shinkafi.

The statement further revealed that the State Government had purchased some vehicles which needed effective and proper handling by educated and highly-skilled manpower, adding that the move is geared towards enhancing the employment generation efforts of the state government.

The statement revealed that the drivers will be employed from the 23 Local Governments Areas of the state.“The initiative is sequel to the changing trend which requires educated persons to handle hi-tech and modern vehicles. Most of these modern vehicles had been fully equipped with computers and other hi-tech gadgets,’’ it said.

“All drivers in the employment of the state government will continue to serve in such positions. Necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the expeditious implementation of the project for the overall development of the state,” the statement added.
