President Goodluck Jonathan is currently in Washington DC, USA, to participate in a three-day US-Africa Leaders Summit.

According to a statement from the presidency, Jonathan arrived in the US on Sunday, 3 August, 2014 with a rousing reception from some Nigerians based in the US.

Reports stated that though there was no airport ceremony but at the President’s hotel, a group of Nigerians were already waiting to receive the Nigerian president before he checked in into his hotel.

While speaking with at the scene, Jonathan promised the Nigerians, who were singing and chanting the National Anthem to welcome him, he would do his best to take the nation to the next level.

He told them that he was doing everything possible to make Nigeria a comfortable place to live in.

The 3-day summit had started on Monday, August 4, and it is expected to end on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
